Passed!

Recently, I (M) have started studying again. This time it was the Billy Graham Association’s School of Evangelism Online.

Now there is a problem with study.. because if your memory is broken (maximum about 7 days and then everything starts all over again), how can you study?

Well, my memory is 7 days “long” at most, unless it was REALLY important, REALLY beautiful, or REALLY horrible. Those things do stick in a pretty normal way. And that means that in this case most things did stick fairly well (because it’s really important to me) and what was in the course was also beautiful to learn.

Was that the case for all parts of this training? No, some pieces were more about the organization of meetings, etc. and to be honest, that’s not my piece of cake. I find evangelism and what the Bible says about it very interesting, how you put a team together… not my thing, to be honest.

That means that I was able to do the interesting parts at a normal pace (because they stick, and you remember what you need to know for that exam), but the parts that are not VERY important or VERY beautiful, you really have to go through VERY quickly. Within one week at most, otherwise it’s gone. And that is one thing I must admit, that unfortunately puts quite a bit of pressure on me. The other thing is that i can read…. but… when i read the Donald Duck magazine, and I’m at the end of the story, I already lost the beginning of the story. And that’s a problem. In this case, most of the info was video, but not all. On the contrary. And that was tough, very tough to say the least…..

That also means that (when you’re working on those not “VERY important” topics), you have to put all(!) other things aside, and otherwise you’ll never pass that exam. And that was actually the most annoying, I must admit. A study can be fun to do, in this case, very instructive, but what are your priorities? In this case, that was sometimes the study, but I’m glad that the priority can go back to the people we try to help. But now with more knowledge about topics that are really important. And that’s what it was all about.

Anyway, passed all exams, a piece of paper to hang on a wall (and we’re not going to do that). And for now… ill have to take some rest since my head is completely overloaded now (everything seems to go very slow), and when its back to working normally, it’s back to work! Let’s use the extra learned knowledge even further for His glory. That was and is the goal.
