Eat a donut and you’ll be fine! Or….

Yesterday it was Tłusty Czwartek in Poland. In other words, Fat Thursday. How does that work (sort of)?

Well, that kind of depends on who you ask. It somehow comes from a vague celebration of the departure of winter and the arrival of spring, when feasts were held at which fatty foods, wine and bread filled with lard were served.

If you ate fat food on that day, it would give you a good harvest season / good future.

That’s what we hear the most in that area. However…..

Would it really work like that? Eat a donut, and a bright future awaits you for the rest of the year?

So what did we (also) do today, get 24 donuts from the bakery and see if we can start a conversation with it. Because a good future, for eternity, does not depend on a donut, but on God’s grace and your faith in Christ.

All in all, a nice day, some good (and sometimes hilarious) conversations and a kilo heavier. 🙂
