Away from home, but still some sort of “home”
We have just returned from spending several days in Poznan. What served as our home base for three years has now become more like a temporary stay in a familiar place. We still know our way around, where to find what we need, the quieter spots in the city, and we remain connected with many people who live there. We even remember certain door codes and how the public transportation system works.
The purpose of the trip was to encourage people and, while we were there, to take care of a few remaining loose ends. Thankfully, we were able to do both. With two to three appointments per day, we had the opportunity to meet with many individuals, offer support, and share some warm embraces. It is a privilege to remain involved in people’s lives, even though we now live much farther away.
