Siep the sheep.
Our “family” does not only consist of M and E… No, we have many more family members. One of them is Siep.
This is Siep. Siep is a sheep. I “rescued” Siep from a toy store in Germany in 1989 when I (M) was working in Germany for a missionary organization. Not always a fun job, not always an easy job and not always a “yeah!” job… on the contrary.
Since then, Siep has visited many countries with me. For better or for worse, Siep was always there.

Our work now in Poland is not always easy… or safe… This also means that we cannot do a lot of things “openly”. Names are abbreviated or anonymized, and so are the “profile photos” that we use on various platforms. Because even there, we cannot always safely use our own photos. So, where necessary, we use a photo of Siep.
Siep reminds me of something every time I ‘see’ him online…: the shepherd never lets go, no matter what happens. The Shepherd takes care of you, wherever you are, no matter how hard life is:
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
And if you see Siep, say hello and give him a pat on the head. Siep sees quite a lot of misery virtually… and could use a hug.
