Immersed.
In our new project “Bible Crafting for Adults,” we create gifts and cards on request that help with evangelism or encourage and support Christians.
We received a request to create something for new baptisms. Each person being baptized receives a Bible verse after their baptism, and it needs to be written down somewhere.
Now, there’s a beautiful technique that’s actually similar to baptism, and that’s marbling.

In marbling, diluted printing ink is dropped onto water. You can then stir it to get the ink moving and let the colors interact with each other. After that, the paper is fully immersed in the water, and it absorbs all the ink it comes into contact with. When you take the paper out of the water, it’s beautifully colored.
We then used this marbled paper to punch out flowers, and from those, we created a colorful flower card.
Just as the paper is fully immersed in the water, so is the person being baptized. It’s a sign that the baptized person dies to their old life and rises to a new life, filled with Christ. And Christ gives a completely new color to life!
With the flower card, we wish the baptized person a fruitful life with Jesus, and we pray for them that they may fully blossom in their new life.
