I feel good here

“I wanted round shapes, arcs and there had to be a frame. In the middle – that’s how I feel here right now. I feel good, hence the cheerful colours. But beyond that, that’s when I get out of here again. Then it becomes black and white again…”
It’s hard to put into words what happens when she leaves. The drawing shows it: all cheerful colours disappear. It is a snapshot of a refugee. A brief moment of a day – of a week, in which she feels good.
The drawing goes with her back “home”. A reminder of the good feeling.
