Choose by yourself
Today’s assignment is to experience what happens inside in terms of feelings and thoughts while completing the assignment.
“I immediately thought: why did you choose this picture, you know you can’t draw those animals? I was struggling and finding it difficult. Became angry and irritated.”
“Then I thought: but I can choose what I want, right? Why do I make it so difficult for myself? And I started drawing the flowers and a sun. And when I looked at the drawing, I missed water. I wanted water with it. It didn’t matter to me that there was no water visible in the picture. It’s my drawing! I decide!
So I added water to the bottom. And it felt good.”
A seemingly simple assignment.
But how many feelings, thoughts and behavioral patterns arise during such a process!
What she takes away from this assignment is that she can choose how she completes it. That she doesn’t have to do what is apparently expected of her. That she can adjust her requirements for herself because finishing the drawing can be done in many ways. That she can take the freedom to color the drawing how she wants.
What about you?
How high are the demands you place on yourself? Do you focus on the expectations of others? Do you feel the freedom to go your own way?
