A real Dutch meal…
We were suddenly invited by Dutch people who are vacationing over here! How lovely!
You know how nice it is to:
- Just talk in your “mother tongue” about the things that really move you?
- Not having to explain your culture, because you come from the same culture?
- Having a normal conversation without it being aimed at a target group?
- That the conversation goes back and forth, and is not just one-way “giving”?
- Being treated to a proper Dutch meal?

- Being able to share things without any judgment attached?
- People actually asking questions to us for once?
That is such a relief! What a breath of fresh air and a blessing.
Oh, and we’re not done yet… because along with the unexpected holidaymakers came a package from good friends from the Netherlands!
Speculaas, chocolate sprinkles, the famous Chinese mix that is actually truly Dutch, licorice, stroopwafels, etc. etc. etc.

And the best part… a very sweet card from our friends. This is pure bliss. Suddenly you are in the Netherlands without actually being there. What a treat.
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to live together in unity!
