Holiday from adulthood
How often do you take a vacation from adulthood? Do you allow yourself to play? Do you let go of the result and enjoy the process?
Today in the therapy groups, we are taking a vacation from adulthood and going to play – literally with our fingers in the paint!
Everyone starts cautiously. First feel what the paint does, paint with 1 finger. That one finger quickly becomes more. And five minutes later, at least one hand is completely covered in paint. There is laughter, enjoyment, testing and teasing.
The outside world and all problems are gone for a while.
Only ‘being’ remains. Be in the moment. Enjoy what is now.
They look at each other – I’ve never done this before!
I never had to try this before!
I’ve seen kids do it before, but now I know why they love doing it!

Happy and smiling they leave the therapy. And with new energy and a new experience they enter a new week.
We sometimes think that therapy is only about solving problems. But there is a whole other side that is just as important. When you cannot solve problems just like that or it takes a long time to change inner processes, it is important to be able to dose. You can’t be busy with difficult subjects all the time, that won’t keep you full. That is why it is good to alternate those moments with relaxation and fun. And that’s what dosing means.
What does your vacation from adulthood look like?
