Who is this???? Part 1.

Some of our work is also online. We “talk” to people that we cannot really see. And that is quite exciting. Because who are they actually?

They can say their name is John, and they come from the UK, but is that true? And you really try to have a conversation with those people, but who are they?

It is no different on “social” media. Yes, they are called friends according to the system, but are they really friends? And what do you actually know about them?

But it’s not just online that you see people who pretend to be different than they really are. Isn’t it much different in real life? If all goes well, yes, but look again! How many people are not wearing masks? Say they are happy, but they are not. Saying that they are bothered by A, but there is something very, very different going on that they find difficult to share. And it may also be that they are really convinced that they are A. All their lives. Only they are unhappy and don’t know why. And when we dig together to find out why, you discover that they have unconsciously been wearing a mask all their lives.

For example, they may have learned at home that emotions should not be there and that you should always be happy with what you have. And that can go well… until that one moment. In which the masks fall off. And that can be very, very confrontational, and then it is good if we are there and can help them find their real “me” (again).

Are those easy conversations? No. Are these the conversations that are completed quickly and yield quick results? No. Because we cannot solve a problem that may have existed for decades with one conversation. So we take all the time, step by step, searching for the real you.

Are we there yet? No. There are people with masks, but also you and me who are wearing sunglasses. In part 2 we tell you all about those sunglasses.
