Weekend Wittendörp and trust..
If you are reading this, we have just visited a “church retreat weekend”. How beautiful it is to see that you have a kind of Family all over the world that you have often not seen before, but who are your family where you can feel at home, far away from “home”.
The theme of the weekend was “trust”. How does trust work for you, between people, between you and God, and how do you deal with it if sometimes your trust is betrayed by people? Quite a difficult topic for many people.

One of the exercises (which we were able to participate in ourselves) was a kind of creative therapy session with paintings. Everyone gets a painting where you can paint what “trust” looks like to you and / or what you need to get your trust (back). Everyone starts off with “his” painting…. but after fifteen minutes you suddenly have to pass “your” painting on to your neighbor, who then continues with it.
How does it work if someone else suddenly starts working on your “painting”? Is that going well… or not? Quite exciting when someone touches your “painting” and perhaps suddenly gives it an entirely different interpretation. Does that trust remain, or how does that work? A beautiful and simple exercise in how trust works.
All in all, a very nice weekend with a good theme. Next week we will also be in Germany for a week full of therapy sessions in Schwerin.
