Voices from the past…

The blogs you read are sometimes very recent, and sometimes they were written a few weeks, months, or even longer ago. Why is that?

The conversations we have with people are private. And although we anonymize everything extensively(!), the world we work in is sometimes surprisingly small. John knows Peter, who saw us talking with James yesterday, and suddenly 1+1=2. Before you know it, people assume that today’s blog is about James.

That can quickly lead to completely incorrect conclusions, with potentially negative consequences for our clients. Naturally, we want to prevent that.

That is why we not only change names, places, and genders, but sometimes also the publication date of a blog.

The nice thing about that is that we sometimes reread (and have to translate) an article that, for us, was written quite some time ago. It allows us to reflect on it once again. Suddenly, we’re back in that conversation, back with that person, we can almost “hear” their voices again, if only for a moment, taking us back to the past.

We work hard on this part of our ministry, but it is such a privilege to be able to do it.
