The diesel had run out…
We will take you along through the events of an ‘ordinary’ evening of street church in the middle of downtown Poznan.
The evenings are getting longer, and it gets dark earlier. Although the streetlights are working, they don’t provide enough light to read the chords. Therefore, they have purchased a lamp stand that literally sheds light on the music stand.
Since there is no power outlet that we can use, all sound amplification and now, of course, the lighting is powered by a diesel generator.
The street church has started, and everyone has been welcomed. A brief explanation has been given about what we are doing there and who Christ is, and the music has begun. A prayer, a testimony, another song, and POOF—everything shuts down.
Diesel generator empty… But no worries, the bottle of diesel is here too! If you look closely at the photo, you can see that the generator is being fed with fresh diesel—nom nom nom!
The generator is turned back on, the equipment powers up again, and we can continue. And the funny thing? This is completely normal; we solve it and move on!
This photo was taken during the setup of the street church. As you can see, there is a piece of cardboard covering part of the license plate. A few weeks earlier, they received a hefty fine for illegal parking due to the many cameras that hang in the city center.
How do you solve that? Well, like this!
Wonderful, that Polish culture!
