Shoes.. and “normal”?

Yesterday we had a movie night at our place. The film was stunning (Ratatouille), but even more stunning are the stories of everyone who came. So many different cultures, so many different stories, and they all have one common denominator… they are now far, far from home.

When you look in the hallway at all the shoes! They have come a long way, literally and figuratively. If you add it all up where they came from, you can travel around the world a few times…

And now all those shoes and the owners of those shoes are in a country that often has nothing of the culture they call normal. Where do they live now, nothing is “normal”, until you realize… what is “normal” anyway? And when you meet each other in this setting, it is very normal that you do not find it normal. The person next to you has the same feelings as well. So, there is nothing wrong with you! Suddenly, you are normal in a non-normal environment. 🙂 And that gives you new normal insights with which you can do a lot in the future.

If only all those shoes could talk….
