Normal? What is that?
This week, E had an appointment for workshops at an LGBT community in Poznań. From the western point of view, there is an image that Poland is quite anti-LGBT, but if we look at the street scene here, it is really different in the place where we live. In all freedom, we see rainbow bags, flags etc etc.
Today I spoke with G, he comes from A. In A, you better not say that you are a Christian because then your head will literally(!) go off… A was on a business trip in Poznań and was so happy to be here, could go to church! Yes, he was only here for a few days, but here he could be here today! In complete freedom. G was thrilled that he was able to be here today!
We also spoke with N from Ukraine… we now know how “free” that is. A country at war, where N certainly does not feel free… on the contrary…
And then you think… how normal is being free really? So, absolutely not normal. It reminded me of the following verse:
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.Hebrews 10:24-25
Enjoy the freedom, go to your meetings when you have that freedom… while you still can. Encourage one another, love the people, do good deeds. And warn each other: Tomorrow it may be different, and then you think: “if only I had”…..
