No idea, no opinion.

Periodically, we are asked what we expect from the hassle (HUGE understatement) in Ukraine, what we think the outcome will be, whether we are for or against country X, etc etc etc.

And you know… we ask ourselves that so often. (and more than that) And we don’t have an answer for it. Nothing, no answer, and we don’t even have an opinion anymore. To give you an idea:

We know people from country X who don’t want to fight, but have to.
We know people from country Y, who don’t want to fight, but have to.
We know people from country Z who don’t want to fight, but are afraid they will have to in the future.
We know people who have fled from country X
We know people who have fled from country Y
We know people who have fled from country Z, but are not officially refugees.
We know people who have all but fled from country X
We know people who have all but fled from country Y
We know people who have all but fled from country Z
We know people who totally agree with Plan X
We know people who totally agree with plan Y
We know people who totally agree with… yes, with what exactly?
And so on…. and on… and on….

But we don’t know anyone (!), absolutely no one (!) who is happy with all of this… on the contrary. The people on the street are paying the price. No matter where you come from, what you think of it, humanly speaking it is a disaster and the person on the street.. Pays a huge price…

And that drama has now become so huge… we don’t see a fast or good solution either. And then you have the choice:

Never mind, I don’t see a solution, so i don’t do anything since i don’t know?
Or we try, together, with everything we can do, to stop the human suffering…little by little, sometimes it seems very little indeed.

And you also know that it’s always not the best choice because THE best choice.. I don’t see it, and I don’t think there is one. We do what we can and must do on a small, human level. But an opinion, or choose a side that will come up with THE solution? No idea, no opinion. Not because we don’t want to, but because we just can’t understand it.

Anyway, we hope and pray that it will stop soon because this chaos… is not going to benefit anyone. On the contrary. And that’s what we think. Full stop.
