If It Wasn’t for the Nights (ABBA) and David.

Many conversations we have are with people from other time zones. We have discovered that we have the “best” conversations in the morning… why?

If you look at the topics of the conversations (humanly speaking not the easiest topics) you see that people also, and sometimes especially at night, struggle with it those. During the day things are usually fine, but when it gets dark… and you lie (alone) in your bed… the world sometimes seems different… and the world with all its misery sometimes comes at you.

Reminded me of a VERY old ABBA song:

If It Wasn’t for the NightsOh, I’m so restless, I don’t care what I say
And I lose my temper ten times a day
Still it’s even worse when the night’s on its way
It’s bad, oh, so bad

Somehow I’d be doing alright if it wasn’t for the night
If it wasn’t for the night, I think that I could make it.
I’d have courage left to fight if it wasn’t for the night.

Abba

And how strange it sounds… we are very happy with those nights and time differences. When other people are (literally) awake with their worries and really need to talk to someone… we are awake… and ready for a good conversation with a good message. Because yes, the night is (sometimes) terrible, but there will be a new day, a new morning. And there is God, who brings hope when life is dark, and when you believe in Him….mhhh ….that reminded me of another song/verse:

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

Psalm 91:5, written by David

Oh, and for the ABBA lovers, enjoy!
