Growth

This week we use ink and a quill to draw, focusing on a theme, according to the technique of horror vacui = fear of emptiness. The entire sheet is therefore filled with shapes and lines.

She has chosen the theme ‘growth’. A theme that is important to her. She longs for new things, for learning more things, for growing in knowledge and skills, for growing as a person.

In her drawing she shows how growth comes from the center, that it is built up layer by layer.
And that is special to see. Because accepting that growth comes step by step was very difficult a year ago. She wanted the end result straight away and couldn’t see the steps to get there. Step by step, she learned to look at the intermediate steps and learn to appreciate them.

The desire to get to the end result is still there, and that is completely okay.
In the meantime, she has become softer towards herself, she allows herself to be appreciated for every step she takes, and she sees the progress she is making.
