Everybody is different
This is suddenly very clear after 2 months of group therapy.
Today’s exercise is about you, as a seed growing. You sit in the ground and fight your way up, to the sky, to the light. And that’s where you grow. What do you look like? Do you have leaves, flowers, fruits perhaps? How tall are you? And what is around you?
She draws the process.
The first ‘act’ is about how she grows herself, with beautiful leaves, light and cheerful.
In the second ‘act’ she sees how others stand around her just like her. Together, they are beautiful.
And then comes the third “act” and she realizes that everyone is so different!

When I ask her what is the most important thing she takes away from the assignment, she says: “I accept that everyone is different”.
She has a hard time with this. Sometimes she doesn’t understand someone else’s struggle – because it’s so obvious, isn’t it? The realization that everyone is different in character, personality, upbringing, experiences in life, is becoming increasingly clear to her. And now she’s come to the point where she can accept that. What a beautiful step!
