Blessed 2026
From our side, we wish you a blessed 2026! To start the year off right (and to give you a glimpse into our international life), here are the classic “New Year’s Eve” films that you really should watch, at the latest, today:
For the Russian speakers among us, THE classic: Ирония судьбы, Ironija soedby (The Irony of Fate).
The film is a Soviet-Russian movie, directed by Eldar Ryazanov, and is one of the most popular films from the Soviet era. Nadja is played by the Polish actress Barbara Brylska, and she is world-famous in Poland.
Especially for you, here it is with English subtitles. Highly recommended.
For the German speakers among us: Ein Herz und eine Seele – Silvesterpunsch. An absolute MUST if you live in this region. 100%.
For the Dutch, a true New Year’s Eve cabaret. The new year cannot start without one.
And for the English speakers: Dinner for One.
The fun thing is that Dinner for One is also a classic in Germany, where it is watched in English with German subtitles. That’s remarkable, because almost everything else here is dubbed in German. So very special!
The interesting thing is: we MUST know all these films. Not knowing which film is THE classic in our “home country” for Christmas or New Year’s Eve… that’s just not an option. Because where do many conversations start during these weeks? “Have you watched film X, Y, Z yet?” So if you don’t know these films in our work context, that “costs” you conversations and connection.
And those conversations… are so important in a world where many people will still be struggling in 2026.
“Just as one candle lights another and can light thousands of other candles, so one heart illuminates another heart and can illuminate thousands of other hearts.” (Leo Tolstoy)
