A normal working day..
Yesterday and today were normal working days. But what is normal?
- Individual therapy with a refugee from Ukraine
- Meeting with another missionary who was here temporarily and is leaving (sad to see him go)
- Group therapy with refugees from Ukraine
- Preparing Bible study with the theme “Job 22:28 Whatever you wish will happen? #exciting
- Intake for a retreat for development workers
- Monthly financials for the month of August
- Recording a podcast (in English) for someone else’s Podcast channel (more on that later) with the subject “Exploring identity: life as a pastor’s child and issues of faith”.
- A number of online coaching conversations
And that was just two days… is that normal? No idea, actually. It is tough, yes, but on the other hand the results are great to see. And you should never forget that. You may(!) see it (the results) sometimes. If you do this type of work, there is no guarantee that you will ever see results. Sometimes you spend months sowing, spreading fertilizer over the land, weeding, doing the accounting, repairing your tractor and so on, without harvesting… and then the one day in the year comes when you get to harvest! Those are THE special days. But naturally or guaranteed? No, it doesn’t work that way. And if you can see, a few times a week(!), that there is a harvest!…. That is and remains very special.
