A cup of tea?
Last week, we ran into someone on the tram, and while chatting (we were almost at our stop), we said, “Why don’t you come with us to our place, and we can continue the conversation over a cup of tea?”
His response was: “Oh, yes, I’d love that! It actually never happens that someone spontaneously invites me for a cup of tea at their home.”
And that made me think… why don’t we, as humans, do that anymore, generally speaking? Why do we feel the need to plan everything? Why is our schedule (again, generally speaking) always so full? Is that really the most human thing for ourselves and for others? Because that little moment of personal attention, right here and now, can be so precious. Often, nothing planned (no matter how well-intentioned) can beat it.
Something to think about… do you have space for a cup of tea? Today?
